Pupils from both sides of the
Green Line will today, Friday, create a ‘Circle of Love’ around Old
Nicosia to raise money for children with special needs.
The event will take place from 5-6.30pm during which pupils aged
10-15, accompanied by their parents, teachers and other volunteers,
will stand along the Venetian Walls around the Old Town holding
lanterns.
The circle will close by the Ledra Palace check-point where a
bi-communal cultural programme will take place on a specially set up
stage.
The event has been organised by the Radiomarathon in conjunction
with Marfin Laiki and the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation and with the
support of teachers’ unions Poed and Oelmek.
The happening aims to raise money that will go to organisations helping children with special needs on both sides of the divide.
